Since the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Rötgen in 1895, the diagnostics carried out both in the fields of medicine and manufacturing (detecting defects in materials) have not been the same, and their existence has made it possible to explore bodies in a way that until then had been totally unsuspected.
The works selected for this exhibition act like X-rays, they pass through our perception to make us discover the fissures, cracks and nodules that, without being obvious, make up our vital experience (identity, thought, mythologies and our increasingly fragile environment).
Through the works of nine artists, “x-rays of being” reveals aspects related to the increasing importance of the role played by seduction in our societies, inscribed in the slogans used by the political leaders of Daniel G. Andújar. Our need of storytelling, as in the case of the canvases by Peter Gallo or Pep Agut, or of our references to nature, and to our habitable environment (whether by Ania Soliman, Peter Downsbrough, Mabel Palacín or Carlos Casas) to the exploration of identity and the self as is the case of the works by Esther Ferrer.
