Vicenç Viaplana. Visiones y cadencias

Una breve cartografía de analogías formales elaborada a partir de la confrontación de la obra de Vicenç Viaplana de los años 70 con la realizada a partir del año 2000.

“En lenguaje musical, una cadencia es el final de una frase musical que contiene puntos de reposo o de disminución de la tensión que le dan un carácter suspensivo. […] Hay otra acepción de la palabra, cuando se refiere a una de las partes de un concierto: ese pasaje en el que uno de los intérpretes tiene la ocasión de demostrar su virtuosismo, y ello resulta válido tanto para el violín de Niccolò Paganini como para la guitarra de Frank Zappa. Esta exposición se ajusta perfectamente a las dos acepciones de este término musical. Por una parte, descubre el virtuosismo de Viaplana en el dibujo y la pintura, y por otra, nos invita a sumergirnos en las tensiones generadas por cada uno de los diálogos propuestos, que acaban convirtiéndose en una cadencia suspensiva que da ganas de saber qué había antes y qué vendrá a partir de ahora en su obra.”
