The Denise René Gallery displays for the digital exhibition, a cutting-edge selection of creation highlights by major artists of constructive abstraction who have been shown by the gallery since its creation, as so many milestones in the development of a remarkably coherent and imaginative aesthetic course which has been reinventing itself from 1945 until today.
This online exhibition will present very highly emblematic historical artworks by three masters of kinetic art (Victor Vasarely, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Jesus Rafael Soto) who participated in the artistic revolution triggered by the 1955 exhibition "The Movement" where, for the first time, the artworks ceased being static to become moving.
The gallery decides to focus on a selection of works realized by the main artists from Latin America. They founded their aesthetic research on the principles of optical art and spatio-dynamism, and this will show how much, this artistic trend led by Denise René Gallery has inspired several generations of male and female artists, today internationally recognized as essential references - from Cicero Dias, Macaparana, Paternosto, Demarco and Perez Flores - who, in one way or another, developed the endless realm of transformation of the work enabled by the visual perception and retinal persistence phenomena or the subtle games of transparency and refraction.
Finally, the exhibition Arco 2021 will present the evolution of this artistic trend in its most recent and interesting expressions: how integrating new computer and digital technologies into their artworks enable younger artists who are part of the continuity of this artistic trend to reinterpret the founding principles of optical art and movement by radically renewing 21th century artistic creation.
